Ngaire Woods is a globally recognised authority on economic governance, public leadership, and institutional reform. As Founding Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government since 2012, she has built one of the world’s most vibrant centres for public-policy education and leadership. Her scholarship and commentary combine academic rigor with real-world relevance, guiding institutions to adapt in times of complexity and change.

Her research addresses the architecture of global institutions, the politics of globalization, and the evolving relationship between advanced and emerging economies. She has advised the International Monetary Fund, served on the G20’s High-Level Independent Panel for financing global commons, and held roles with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, and numerous global governance bodies. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, an International Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Arts.

A prolific author, c0-author and commentator, Ngaire’s many books include The Politics of Global Regulation, Networks of Influence, and The Globalizers: The IMF, the World Bank and their Borrowers among others. She has written monthly for Project Syndicate since 2013, offering fresh insight into global economic, political and regulatory trends.
