Dr. Emily Leeming's Biography

Dr Emily Leeming is a microbiome scientist at King’s College London, registered dietitian, and chef, renowned for translating cutting-edge gut-brain research into practical strategies for everyday health. She holds a BSc in Nutrition, an MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics, and a PhD in nutrition and the gut microbiome. Her debut book, Genius Gut: The Life-Changing Science of Eating for Your Second Brain (Penguin, 2024), has been widely praised for its accessible approach to gut health, earning spots on the Daily Mail’s Top Reads and Cosmopolitan’s Best Health Reads of 2024.

As a member of the prestigious PROSPECT Cancer Grand Challenge team, led by Harvard University, Dr Emily contributes to a £20 million research initiative exploring the role of diet and the gut microbiome in early-onset colorectal cancer.
