Carl Miller is a leading voice in understanding how technology is reshaping power, society, and our everyday lives. Best known as the host and writer of the chart-topping true-crime podcast Kill List, Carl captivated audiences with his gripping story of uncovering a murder-for-hire website on the dark net.

His investigation exposed a kill list targeting innocent people and turned into a race against time to warn potential victims and uncover the truth when law enforcement failed to act. The podcast reached the top ten in the UK charts in Autumn 2025, cementing Carl as a compelling storyteller and fearless investigator.

Carl’s debut book, The Death of the Gods: The New Global Power Grab, won the 2019 Transmission Prize. It explores how digital technologies have disrupted traditional power structures, from politics and media to business and geopolitics. Carl has immersed himself in the digital revolution, visiting information warfare bases, meeting fake news merchants, and uncovering shadowy online markets. His work highlights the unseen forces shaping the world, from the rise of cryptocurrencies to the transformation of crime and disinformation.

Over the past 15 years, Carl has led more than 40 major research projects delving into the digital age. He coined the term “SOCMINT” (social media intelligence) with the former Director of GCHQ and was among the first to identify the influence of conspiracy theories and the urgent need for digital literacy.
