Magnus Ekbom's Biography

Magnus Ekbom is a Singapore-based Swedish technology entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Lazada. He led Lazada through its startup and growth phases to sale and completion of integration by Alibaba Group in 2016 and 2018 where he oversaw the full integration process and remained with the company until late 2022.

Magnus is currently the CEO of SEAI Technologies a company specialised in AI & machine learning model solutions for enterprises and he leads Nordic Light, a strategy and M&A advisory firm for founder-led digitally native businesses.

He is a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group supporting their Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications leadership team and was a member of the Future Economy Council (FEC) for the Government of Singapore for three years, as one of five representatives from the business community, focused on supply chain strategy & diversification.

Magnus graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics with a degree in Business & Economics. He is a sought-after speaker, influential voice and key contributor to the AI Tech scene in APAC, providing strategic advice and thought leadership to global corporations.

Magnus lives in Singapore together with his family and has called South East Asia home for more than a decade.
