Christina Adane's Biography

Christina Adane, a dynamic youth activist and campaigner renowned for her impactful work in advocating for food justice and youth empowerment. She is a co-chair of the Youth Board at Bite Back 2030, an organization dedicated to ensuring all young people have access to nutritious food. Her passionate advocacy and leadership have earned her recognition as a powerful and inspiring speaker on social justice issues.

Her journey as an activist gained significant momentum when she joined Bite Back 2030 as co-chair where she has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s strategies and campaigns. In 2020, Christina started a petition which attracted over 450,000 signatures and appeared across national media. This triggered a successful campaign guaranteeing free holiday meals for underprivileged children in the UK. Her leadership in the campaign brought national attention to this issue and resulted in policy changes to support vulnerable children.

She also led a high-profile campaign against junk food advertising targeted at young people, highlighting the impact of marketing on children’s health choices. Her efforts contributed to increased awareness and legislative action aimed at reducing the prevalence of unhealthy food advertisements.

Christina’s work has been recognised by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who welcomed her as a guest on their podcast, and by the BBC who named her one of the top 100 women of 2020. In 2021, she won the Diana Legacy Award for her efforts with BiteBack in fighting for a fairer food system. Christina was also a top three contender for the Children’s Peace Prize in 2021. She also directed her own programme on Radio 4 called ‘My Name is Christina.’
