Lucy Fisher's Biography
Lucy Fisher is an award-winning political journalist, broadcaster and author.
She is Whitehall Editor at the Financial Times and host of the FT’s Political Fix podcast.
An experienced reporter who covers UK politics and government policy in depth, she has interviewed a raft of prime ministers, chancellors and other Cabinet ministers and opposition figures.
Lucy appears regularly on the BBC and Sky News, including the programmes Newsnight, Westminster Hour, Today, Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg and the paper review.
Well-connected in Westminster, she is chairman of the Parliamentary Press Gallery and is an associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), the world’s oldest security think tank.
She has reported from locations as diverse as Washington, Brussels, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Arctic Circle.
Previously she was chief political correspondent and then defence editor at The Times, and later chief political commentator at Times Radio.
Her most recent book Women in the War: The Last Heroines of Britain’s Greatest Generation was published by HarperCollins NonFiction in September 2021.
It followed her biography Emily Wilding Davison: The Martyr Suffragette, published by Biteback in 2018.
Lucy is an experienced public speaker, who regularly moderates and appears on panels, gives keynote addresses, and appears at literary festivals.
