Marcus Lemonis's Biography

Best known for improving businesses on CNBC’s The Profit, Marcus Lemonis is more than a television personality. He is a successful entrepreneur, advocate and philanthropist who strives to make financial literacy accessible to all.

In a world where business leaders are often lauded for their cutthroat strategies, Marcus Lemonis stands apart, leading with heart, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to people, process, and product. His journey, however, has been far from easy.

Abandoned at just four days old at a Lebanese orphanage, Marcus was adopted and raised in Miami by his loving parents, Sophia and Leo Lemonis. Despite facing struggles with weight, bullying, and self-confidence, it was his mother’s wisdom that taught him to embrace his uniqueness and discover his natural talent for business and helping others.

Marcus’s entrepreneurial spirit took flight early, first honing his skills at his family’s automotive dealership. By 25, he revolutionized the RV industry, growing Camping World into the nation’s largest RV retailer. This success propelled him to become Executive Chairman of Beyond, a global e-commerce leader.

Not content with just business success, Marcus ventured into television with The Profit, a hit CNBC series where he helped turn around struggling businesses. The show ran for eight seasons and spawned Streets of Dreams, an award-nominated series exploring the financial workings of key industries. His commitment to helping others also made him a sought-after motivational speaker.

Despite his achievements, Marcus remains grounded by the lessons of humility instilled by his mother. He’s donated millions to causes close to his heart, including $15 million to his alma mater, Marquette University, and $10 million to Christopher Columbus High School in Miami. During the 2020 pandemic, he launched the Marcus Lemonis Learning Center, offering free online business training to aspiring entrepreneurs. Marcus continues to invest in small businesses and champion the underdog, finding his true inspiration in people, not profits.

Born in Lebanon, Marcus’s story is the embodiment of the American Dream—one of perseverance, compassion, and transformation. Stay tuned for his return to television in the summer of 2025 with The Fixer on FOX, where he will continue to inspire and elevate others.
