Wolfgang Ischinger's Biography
Wolfgang Ischinger is a German diplomat who has held various high-profile positions in government. He is one of the most respected political figures with a deep passion for helping build peace and security worldwide. In 2008, Wolfgang joined the Munich Security Conference, an international committee hosting annual conferences to discuss global security policies. He presided as Chairman of the committee until 2022, when he became President of the Foundation Council. He served as Germany’s ambassador in international countries, including the United States (2001-06) and the United Kingdom (2006-08).
