Ade Adepitan Keynote Speaker

Ade Adepitan MBE is a Paralympic medallist, British television presenter, actor and philanthropist. He has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and is an engaging motivational keynote speaker on adversity, success and altruism. 

Ade is a presenter on Climate Change: Ade on the Frontline, an environmental travel show that outlines how life and the planet are being affected by climate change. The show explores ways in which society can combat these changes. In the mini-series, which features Greta Thunberg in an episode, he introduces audiences to the people battling climate change on the front line, such as drought, forest fires, and rising sea levels. As an environmental presenter, Ade was invited to be one of the BBC presenters at the 2021 Global Citizen Festival and was also approached by a self-governed scientific group to host open access meetings to the public to report ongoing changes in the global environment. 

On Africa with Ade Adepitan, the four-part travel mini-series, he embarks on a journey to showcase the myriad of cultures, diverse languages and captivating people across Africa to dispel common misconceptions about the continent and its various countries. Ade also participated in the 2005 four-part expedition documentary Beyond Boundaries, where he had an opportunity to travel to Nicaragua and document his journey in a video diary as he voyaged through mountains, deserts, rivers and rainforests.

Ade was invited to co-present on That Paralympic Show during the 2012 Paralympics. He was one of the main presenters during the 2012 and 2016 Paralympics and the 2014 Winter Paralympics; he was also a BBC commentator for wheelchair basketball at the 2008 Paralympics. Ade was also a judge on the Invictus Games and a co-presenter on New York: America’s Busiest City and World’s Busiest Cities. He has made acting appearances on various television programs and series, including EastEnders, Desperados and BBC One Hip-Hop ident as a lead dancer. 

Ade is a Paralympic medallist who was part of the 2004 Great Britain wheelchair basketball team that won bronze in Athens and the 2005 team that won gold in the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester. 

As an avid philanthropist, Ade often campaigns against racism and disability discrimination on his platforms. He is a supporter and patron of many charities, including; Go Kids Go, Comic relief, WheelPower and the National Society of the Prevention of the Cruelty to Children Charity (NSPCC). He is a Right to Play athlete ambassador and was part of the 2011 Disabled Motoring UK Alps challenge.

In 2005, for his services to disability sport, Ade was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). He holds Honorary Doctorates for outstanding services and performances in disability sport from Loughborough University and the University of East London. The University of East London also presented him with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The Champions Club UK awarded him a “Certificate of Excellence”, and Powerlist included him on their list of 100 most influential Black British people.
