Jeff Benedict's Biography
Jeff Benedict is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of seventeen non-fiction books and more than one hundred published stories and essays. He’s also an Emmy-winning film and television producer.
A former special features writer for Sports Illustrated and the Los Angeles Times, Benedict penned the landmark biographies of Tiger Woods in 2018, and LeBron James in 2023. The New York Times called the Tiger book “a big American story” and “as sleek as a Christopher Nolan movie.” Critics called the LeBron biography “masterful,” “absorbing,” and “a sports opera fueled by drama and emotion.” Both books were instant bestsellers and were published in over fifteen foreign languages.
In between writing Tiger and LeBron, Benedict spent five years inside Patriots organization. During that time he wrote The Dynasty an instant New York Times bestseller that is the definitive account of the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick-Robert Kraft era. Benedict also wrote and executive produced the 10-part documentary series “The Dynasty: New England Patriots” with Imagine Entertainment for Apple TV+. It aired in 2024.
In 2024, Benedict’s book Poisoned was the basis of the Netflix documentary “Poisoned,” which won the Emmy for Outstanding Current Affairs Documentary. Benedict executive produced the film.
Benedict also executive produced “Tiger,” a two-part documentary for HBO that was based on his book. Benedict’s book Little Pink House was the basis of a motion picture starring Catherine Keener and Jeanne Tripplehorn, which Benedict produced.
In 2016, Benedict co-wrote Steve Young’s bestselling autobiography QB, which was the basis of an NFL Films documentary.
