Ernst-Jörg von Studnitz Keynote Speaker

Dr. Ernst-Jörg von Studnitz was the German Ambassador to Russia from 1995 to 2002. In 2002 he joined the board of the Germany- Russia Forum, which promotes relations between Germany and Russia through social and business enterprises. He has been the organisation’s Chairman since 2003.

Ambassador Studnitz entered the German Foreign Service in 1967, where his early postings included the German Embassy in Moscow (1969-73), and the German Embassy in Ankara (1973-76).

Before becoming Ambassador to Russia, he also served at Germany’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, as well as positions in East Berlin and the Department for Central and Eastern Europe at the German Foreign Ministry.
