Tim Shipman, is a political journalist and keynote speaker known for his deep expertise in political analysis and British government operations. He’s a chief political commentator at The Sunday Times since 2014 after serving eight years as political editor. He speaks about topics such as the dynamics of British politics, the impact of Brexit on the UK, and the future of political journalism.

He holds a BA Hons in History from the University of Cambridge obtained in 1996. His journalistic journey began after completing his education and swiftly moving into the field of political reporting. He has been a national newspaper journalist since 1997 and in sixteen years of writing about politics, he has also reported from Westminster for the Daily Mail and the Sunday Express. Over his career, Tim was Washington’s correspondent for the Sunday Telegraph during Barack Obama’s historic first election campaign. He has covered four general elections, three presidential elections, two wars and more leadership contests than he can count.

Shipman’s tenure at The Sunday Times has been marked by his insightful coverage of significant political events, such as Brexit and the 2017 general election, making him a trusted source of political news and analysis.
