Marcus Grubb Keynote Speaker

Marcus Grubb is an experienced leader and keynote speaker with a proven track record in management, strategic business development and marketing at Managing Director and Board level in global finance and metals and mining. He is a well-known commentator on macro investment trends and precious metals.

Marcus Grubb was Director of the World Platinum Investment Council (WPIC) responsible for market development and Managing Director of Investment at the World Gold Council (WGC) responsible for market development, the ETF programme, global marketing and research. Prior roles include Managing Director of Global Equities and Investment Bank Board Member and Chief Executive of a derivatives exchange. His early career was in investment banking as investment strategist for UBS, Salomon Brothers and Warburg.

He is a non-executive Director and advisor for a regulated asset management business in London and Luxembourg and of two London based fintech businesses.

As Managing Director at the WGC from 2008-2015, Marcus Grubb headed gold marketing supporting the SPDR GLD ETF and grew assets from $30b to $80b. He managed the ICBC gold saving scheme with the China team, which today has over 10m accounts and $2 billion of gold in China. He was the global spokesperson for the gold industry and managed global research.

Prior to the WGC, as Chief Executive, he founded and built a derivatives exchange platform called Swapstream, which was sold to CME in 2006. From 1997-2000 he was the Global Head of Equities on the Investment Bank Board of Rabobank. His early career was as an investment strategist for UBS, Salomon and Warburg and he began his career at JP Morgan in New York.

Marcus graduated in 1983 from Oxford University with a prize winning first in Modern History & Economics.
