David Enrich's Biography

David Enrich is an author, reporter and the current European Banking Editor for The Wall Street Journal. He is responsible for coordinating the Journal’s coverage of banking and regulatory policy across Europe.

David Enrich joined the Journal in December 2007 in New York as a reporter writing about the U.S. banking industry, with a particular focus on Citigroup. He relocated to the Journal’s London bureau in March 2010, covering British banks and regulation. He was named European banking editor in March 2012. Prior to joining the Journal, he was a reporter with Dow Jones Newswires for several years.

Mr. Enrich has received numerous journalism awards, including in 2012 an Overseas Press Club award for coverage of the European financial crisis and a George Polk Award for coverage of insider trading. Mr. Enrich was part of teams of Journal reporters who were finalists for Pulitzer Prizes in 2009 and 2011.

Prior to joining Dow Jones in 2003, David was a reporter for States News Service in Washington, D.C.

In 2017 David Enrich released The Spider Network: The Wild Story of a Math Genius, a Gang of Backstabbing Bankers, and One of the Greatest Scams in Financial History, the book, that covers the ins and outs of the Libor Scandal, has been nominated for the Financial Times and Mckinsey Business Book of the year.
