Speaker Spotlight: Carissa Véliz

This year has witnessed an exponential growth of AI and its many facets – in particular we have all become aware of the power of Generative AI.
The need to understand and use appropriate ethics has never been more important. Regulation can’t keep pace with the development of these emerging technologies so while the law catches up, it falls to developers and users to create high standards of behaviour and to respect the impact of these powerful tools.

A leading authority in this area is Professor Carissa Véliz. She is Associate Professor in Philosophy at the Institute for Ethics in AI at the University of Oxford and author of the highly-acclaimed “Privacy Is Power“, an Economist book of the year. She is also the editor of the “Oxford Handbook of Digital Ethics”.
Carissa is in demand to speak to a variety of organisations and conferences, for tech events, legal firms, financial services, education and large open events where these issues are being explored and discussed.
If you would like to invite Carissa to speak at your event, please let us know.
