As the world commemorates the anniversary of the Ukraine War, the global geopolitical landscape stands at a crossroads fraught with complex challenges. The conflict in Ukraine continues to cast a long shadow over international relations and despite efforts to broker peace agreements, fighting and tensions persist, underscoring the unresolved nature of the crisis and the fragile state of European security.

Simultaneously, the Middle East remains a focal point of geopolitical turmoil, with conflicts and power struggles reshaping the region’s dynamics. Aside from the Israel/Gaza war, ongoing conflicts in Syria, Yemen, and Libya, fuelled by regional rivalries and external interventions, have continued to destabilise the region. Moreover, the proliferation of non-state actors, extremist groups, and proxy warfare further complicates efforts to achieve stability and peace in the region.

Beyond these hotspots, other geopolitical issues demand attention and concerted international action. Climate change poses an existential threat, exacerbating resource competition, and potentially triggering mass migration. Economic disparities, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, fuel social unrest and political instability in various parts of the world. Additionally, the rise of authoritarianism, erosion of democratic norms, and challenges to multilateralism test the foundations of global governance and cooperation.

Chartwell Speakers are pleased to work with a number of geopolitical experts who can help make sense of the current global landscape and aid businesses in understanding how things may develop.
