Samm Sacks's Biography

Samm Sacks is an expert speaker on global cyber policy, digital economy and emerging technology governance, particularly data protection policy. She has worked on Chinese technology policy issues for over a decade, both with the U.S. government and in the private sector. She also launched Siemens cybersecurity business in Asia.

Samm regularly appears on Bloomberg and CNBC to discuss topics including Beijing’s enforcement surge targeting internet platforms, U.S. government efforts to unwind technology interconnection with China, the build out of China’s cybersecurity regime and the global expansion of Chinese internet companies.

She is also a frequent contributor to Print Media, including the Financial Times, New York Times, Reuters, South China Morning Post, Wall Street Journal, and CNN. She has published on these topics in Foreign Affairs, the Atlantic, and MIT Tech Review, among other outlets.
