Michael Liebreich Keynote Speaker

Michael Liebreich is a pioneer and renowned figure in the global clean energy industry. A keynote speaker and vocal advocate for sustainable energy, Michael is a regular commentator on energy issues in the media. He has been a driving force behind the growth of renewables over the past decade, advising governments and corporations on energy policy for more than three decades.

Michael is an official Advisor to the UK’s Board of Trade, a special advisor for Sustainable Development Capital and a part-time co-managing partner of EcoPragma Capital. He is the founder, CEO and Chairman of Liebreich Associates, a consultancy company offering services and advice related to technology, renewable energy and transportation, environmental financing and sustainability, and intelligent infrastructure.

Michael is a Senior Contributor for Bloomberg New Energy Finance (formerly New Energy Finance) and former Chairman of the Advisory Board and CEO. He is a Guest Lecturer at Imperial College’s Energy Futures Lab and a representative of the Capital Investment Advisory Board of the UK Department for International Trade. Michael is an avid philanthropist who is the founding Chairman of the Liebreich Foundation, Moving Mountains (previously Association EcoVillages) and “Cleaning Up – Leadership in an Age of Climate Change” YouTube channel and podcast.

For his contributions to improving air quality in London, Michael was presented with the Clean Air City award in 2014. He has been an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist three times, and New Energy Finance won the Euromoney Ernst & Young Information Provider of the Year award in 2005. He holds Lifetime Achievement awards from the Renewable Energy Association and GreenBusiness.

As one of the most acclaimed pioneers in the clean energy industry, Michael has served on numerous advisory boards, including WWF Switzerland, Women in Sustainability Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER), GreenMap Association and as a member of the UN Secretary General’s high-level advisory group on Sustainable Energy for All.
