Lucy Cooke's Biography

Lucy Cooke is an acclaimed zoologist, New York Times bestselling author, National Geographic explorer, and award-winning broadcaster who has built an extraordinary career exploring the natural world and challenging conventional thinking about biology and gender.

She holds a Masters in Zoology from New College at Oxford, where she studied evolution under Richard Dawkins.

Her first book, The Unexpected Truth About Animals was shortlisted for the prestigious Royal Society Prize and has been translated into 19 languages. Her recent book, Bitch: On the Female of the Species published in 2022, received widespread critical acclaim, earning spots on “Best Books of the Year” lists by The Telegraph and The Guardian.
