Graham Stacey's Biography
After retiring as Air Marshal, Sir Graham Stacey KBE CB joined the European Leadership Network (ELN) in November 2020 as a Senior Consulting Fellow. His tenure at ELN included serving as the Acting Policy & Research Director from September 2022 to March 2023. With nearly four decades of dedicated service in the UK Royal Air Force Regiment, Sir Graham held several key positions during his illustrious military career. His final role was Chief of Staff of NATO Transformation.
Throughout his career, Sir Graham maintained an international focus, undertaking diverse responsibilities such as Deputy Commander of a NATO Joint Force Command, Commander and Administrator of the British Sovereign Base Areas in Cyprus, and Senior Advisor to US Central Command. His operational service included missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, The Gulf, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Apart from his contributions to ELN, Sir Graham serves as a Non-Executive Director of the National Centre for Atmospheric Science, where research on climate change, air pollution, and high-impact weather is conducted. Additionally, he is a member of the Natural Environment Research Council board overseeing the UK’s facility for airborne atmospheric measurement. Sir Graham’s commitment to addressing climate-related issues is further demonstrated by his membership in the International Military Council on Climate & Security.
