Gianni Riotta's Biography
Gianni Riotta was Editor-in-Chief of Il Sole 24 Ore, Italy’s leading financial and business newspaper, from 2009 to 2011.
He is one of Italy’s most respected journalists, particularly in the areas of economics, politics and business. He also served as the Director of TG1, the main evening news journal on the public broadcaster RAI TV, from 2006 to 2009. Before RAI TV, he worked as a correspondent for such notable publications as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Le Monde, and Foreign Policy and served as co-editor of La Stampa.
Over his career, Gianni has served much of his time as a correspondent in foreign countries, including a considerable amount of time in the U.S. where he studied at Columbia University. He has interviewed many notable business leaders and policy-makers, among them George W. Bush.
Gianni is now a a Visiting Professor at the Department of French and Italian at Princeton University.
