Danny Lopez Keynote Speaker

Danny Lopez has enjoyed a successful international career working across cyber-security, diplomacy, marketing and banking and is a leading speaker on topics surrounding cyber-security and technology.

Danny is the CEO of award-winning cyber security firm Glasswall, which delivers unique protection against sophisticated file-based threats, protecting defence and security organisations worldwide.

From 2016-18, Danny was COO at Blippar, a UK-based augmented reality (AR) pioneer. Between 2011-16, he became the youngest person ever to be appointed as British Consul General to New York, and was the Director General for trade and investment across North America, the UK’s second most senior diplomatic position in the USA.

Prior to this, Danny was appointed by the Mayor of London as the inaugural CEO of London & Partners, the UK capital’s official promotional agency. He was also formerly the Managing Director for marketing at the UK government’s Department for International Trade, and held several senior international positions at Barclays Bank.

Danny is a non-executive director at both Innovate Finance – the UK industry body championing global fintech – and Aquis Stock Exchange. He is a pro-bono advisor to the City of London Corporation and sits on the Private Sector Council of the UK government’s GREAT Campaign.

Having worked extensively across government and business, Danny is passionate about bringing cyber security to life.  He works with boards, executive teams and organisations across the world, and speaks regularly on trends in cyber security; building a cyber security culture; how boards and executive teams should manage cyber risk; and geopolitics and the intersection of market disrupting technologies and government policy.

Danny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a Master’s degree in international economics and finance from the University of Essex. Born in England, Danny grew up in Spain and is a fluent Spanish speaker. Danny and his Australian wife Susan live in London with their three children.
