Colin Mochrie's Biography
Colin Mochrie is an improvisational comedian, author and producer who has entertained audiences since he started in the entertainment industry at a young age. With an extensive theatre and television career over three decades, he is now a sought-after speaker, providing hilarious and insightful presentations to global audiences.
Colin is one half of the improv duo Colin & Brad alongside his former Whose Line co-star Brad Sherwood. The comical team has performed Scared Scriptless! for crowds of adoring fans at prominent venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House. The two-person group began performing in small theatres in 2002 and released the Colin & Brad: Two Man Group DVD in 2011.
Colin is perhaps best known as a series regular on the hit show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, where he appeared on both the UK and US shows. After two unsuccessful attempts to join the UK show, he was eventually selected as a regular member until the show’s conclusion in 1998. He then joined the US version and appeared in every episode from the debut in 1998 to the finale in 2006.
Along with this entertainment prowess, Colin is also the author of Not Quite the Classics(2013), a collection of stories that take well-known works of literature and give them a new, humorous spin.
As one of the most beloved figures in the industry, he has made appearances in many films, including Drifting Snow (2021), Inconceivable (2007), The Tuxedo (2002), Totally Blonde (2001), and The January Man (1989). He has also had television appearances on various programs, including The Kids in the Hall (2022), Workin’ Moms (2020), Murdoch Mysteries (2017), She’s the Mayor (2011), Goosebumps (1996) and Getting Along Famously.
For his work and service to the entertainment industry, Colin has been the recipient of numerous awards such as the Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Male Improviser and Best TV Writing in a Special or Episode, Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Award for Best Script for TV Comedy or Variety and a B-Movie Award for Best B-Movie Hollywood Appearance or Cameo.
Colin regularly tours as a keynote speaker and corporate entertainer. His speaking engagements are always warmly received by audiences of all ages.
