Chris Bohjalian's Biography

Chris Bohjalian is a highly acclaimed American author of nine New York Times best-sellers and fifteen books in total. Chris’ Swedish-Armenian background has deeply influenced his work and his close study of the human psyche is frequently praised by critics. Chris’ work ranges from re-imagining Romeo and Juliet in the Second World War to fiction based on the Armenian Genocide.

As a prolific author, Chris has been awarded the ANCA Freedom Award for his work educating Americans about the Armenian Genocide as well as being nominated as a Fellow of the Vermont Academy of Arts and Sciences. Chris’s work has also been featured in the Washington Post, Cosmopolitan, Reader’s Digest, and the Boston Globe Sunday Magazine. His ability to use modern day themes within historical events has made Chris a top listed author in the US. His newly released books consistently gain positive reviews for their plot and themes.

Chris studied at Amherst College and has written a weekly column for the Burlington Free Press newspaper since 1992. Chris’ work is varied and inspiring.
