Jimmy is the author of the US national bestseller, ‘The Founders: The Story of Paypal and the Entrepreneurs Who Shaped Silicon Valley‘.  Paypal’s founders are colloquially known as the ‘Paypal mafia’, having gone on to establish the leading technology companies of our time – Tesla, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn etc. However, the story of where they started has gone largely untold. Jimmy Soni’s new book explores these early days and features privileged access to the figures themselves. The New York Times describes the book as an “intensely magnetic chronicle” and Walter Isaacson as “an indispensable guide to modern innovation and entrepreneurship”. 

Jimmy is the former Managing Editor at the Huffington Post and co-author of ‘A Mind at Play: How Claude Shannon Invented the Information Age‘. The book won the 2017 Neumann Prize for the best book on mathematics for a general audience.

He started his career with McKinsey before working as a speechwriter for some of Capitol Hill’s leading political figures.
